Malaysia Parliament - We’re live

by admin, April 29, 2008

By the time I’m done with morning chores, it’s already 10.30am. I switched on the telly to watch our very first live telecast from parliament today half and late. The live telecast wouldn’t have become a reality if the opposition had not denied Barisan Nasional it’s 2/3 majority I’m sure.

The first ruckus came when the speaker denied supplementary questions after Abdullah Ahmad Badawi textbook answer on the Government’s “new approach and plans to continue improving the public’s quality of life especially in strengthening purchasing power, public safety and racial integration”. The reason? Time constrains. Of course, it seems more like a move to protect Abdullah Ahmad Badawi from further questioning. Lim Kit Siang was particularly upset with it, saying it is a mockery to democracy and that MPs might as well stay home and read about the proceedings. Feuds in parliament can only light up further when tough questions come into play later on.

My friend’s new PC

April 26, 2008
My friend bought a new PC today. The specs were Pentium Core 2 Duo E6600, 2GB DDR2 667Mhz RAM, 250GB HDD and the rest pretty standard stuff. The motherboard is a bit too shabby, all-in-one with built-in video and soundcard. So safe to say, audio and video, especially gaming wise, sucks. He wanted to play some [...]

Hate the scorching Malaysian sun

April 26, 2008
You know, I kinda miss the good old days back in Australia during my college years. Especially during Spring and Autumn when the weather’s just nice for everything outdoors. Even summer doesn’t feel as hot as Malaysia. Unlike scrambling to the nearest air-conditioned places in Malaysia, my friends and I used to hang out in [...]

Umno Youth chief Hishammuddin Hussein’s keris issue apology insincere!

April 26, 2008
Umno Youth chief Hishammuddin Hussein is NOT apologizing as he shows no regrets over his keris-waving gesture at UMNO General Assembly 3 years ago. Is the keris issue one of the main reasons why Barisan Nasional lost the 12the General Election on 8 March 2008? I’m not sure. Corruption scandals, government expenditure excesses, corrupted judiciary, human [...]

Insurance agents

April 25, 2008
Some of my schoolmates got into the insurance business a few years ago. Classmates in fact. Those that I don’t really get along well with. Not that we’re not on good terms but they’re just not in my group of friends during schooldays. When my friends and I bumped into them a couple of years ago, [...]

Sept 16 2008 - deadline for Pakatan Rakyat takeover?

April 23, 2008
I’m not kidding when I say I don’t know what significance September 16 represents for Malaysia; it’s Malaysia Day! I failed history, so sue me. Why the mention of Sept 16? Anwar said Pakatan Rakyat will become government by Malaysia Day. For the love of god, I really hope what Pakatan Rakyat says is true. Can [...]

Fixing another faulty door knob

April 23, 2008
When my mom’s house was renovated back in 2004, she certainly made a mistake in terms of materials. She went for looks and never did check on quality and reliability. Take door knobs for example. I was there to replace a door knob today and if I’m not mistaken, this is the 3rd faulty one [...]
