Tamil Makkal Osai suspended!

by admin, April 16, 2008

For every baby steps taken by Barisan Nasional to mend it’s tarnished reputation, there’s bound to be one huge stupid move that sets it ten steps backward in the eyes of the nation. Suspending Tamil Makkal Osai is one such stupidity.

Tamil daily newpaper Makkal Osai has got it’s license suspended by the government. Home Minister, Datuk Seri Syed Hamid Albar called for the ban due to the Tamil daily’s extensive coverage on Anwar Ibrahim, Pakatan Rakyat and Hindraf issues. So much for press freedom huh.

Nice move Barisan Nasional. As if Hindraf issue hasn’t caused enough anger among the Indian community in Malaysia. Trying another trick up their sleeve to challenge MAKKAL SAKTHI (People’s Power). Dream on, Barisan Nasional. You guys just don’t get it do you? Suppressing information by banning newspapers is so old. There’s no way Barisan Nasional can keep a lid on what the nation deserves to know these days.

What do you do if you want press freedom to stay alive? Pakatan Rakyat for GOVERNMENT! As if we have a choice, sigh.

Remove battery when notebook is plugged into the wall

April 15, 2008
One of my worst mistakes when comes to notebook computer usage is leaving the battery intact eventhough it is plugged into an electricity outlet. I have never removed the battery even after fully charged it. That, I realise is a grave mistake. Hence, within 2 years, my battery’s performance dropped drastically. Fully charged, it could [...]

Pidato by Five Menteri Besar from Pakatan Rakyat in Stadium Perak on April 14
It’s the sort of crowd pulled in by big events in quiet Ipoh; football finales, Jom Heboh events etc. I’m guessing from the capacity of Stadium Perak of 30,000 when the stands are fully packed, we can easily assume MORE than 30,000 people attended the speech by 5 Pakatan Rakyat Menteri Besars on this memorable [...]

UMNO Youth members must blog

April 13, 2008
UMNO Youth members were told by the government to start blogging as one of the pre-requisite of joining the party. Barisan Nasional admits that bloggers in cyberspace and alternative media played a big part in their crushing defeat at the 12th General Election. The people of Malaysia had no choice because the government owns the [...]

Birthday present for our baby from Aunt Alicia

April 12, 2008
My baby daughter will be 1-year-old in slightly more than a month. Wow, how time flies. The day she was born, well, felt like just yesterday. And now she’s standing, cruising, can’t talk yet but responding well and cutting her first two front teeth. The bottom pair. Aunty Alicia has ordered a Claesens Baby Girls Funky [...]

My favourite prawn mee is RM3 now

April 11, 2008
Noodles cost more now. A bowl of prawn mee I had this morning is up by 10 cents and the portion is smaller. That dish of Hakka mee I had yesterday didn’t raise prices, but the portion seems to be smaller nonetheless. My friend thought so too. My favourite wantan mee just around the corner [...]

Anxiously waiting for Barisan Nasional MPs to jump ship

April 10, 2008
Anwar Ibrahim will be back in business 15th of April. I’m happy for him but that’s about it. I’m not an Anwar fan. What I’m truly looking forward to is the realisation of Barisan Nasional MPs who are allegedly said to be hopping over to PKR, soon. Doing it at their own free will with [...]
