Anwar’s speech at Oil Hike Protest at Kelana Jaya stadium on 6th July

by Stanley, July 11, 2008

Anwar Ibrahim giving a speech in the Oil Hike Protest on 6th of July. I couldn’t attend the protest so the next best thing is well, Youtube I suppose.

Despite warning from the ministers and police Malaysians from all walks of life attended the event which was held at Kelana Jaya stadium. Days before the event, rumours abound that the government will use the police and army to stir trouble. There were army personnel in full tactical gear and vehicles spotted on major roads all over Klang Valley prior to the event. It was a disturbing sight raising tension and fear among the locals.

The press highlighted our government labelling the protest a failure. Sure the protest failed to achieve 1 million attendance (that’s wishful thinking on PR’s part IMO) but to call it a failure? I don’t think so.

Feng Shui wind chime disturbing our baby’s slumber

July 11, 2008
During dinner last night, I’ve been handed an ultra HUGE wind chime by my mom. To be hung at the window of our baby room. She reminded us numerous times it’s important to hang it by the middle window, not an inch left or right. It’s a Feng Shui thing and wind chimes are part [...]

I’ve had the new treadmill for over about 2 weeks now and has been working out whenever there’s free time around to exercise. I’d usually run leisurely in 30min and 45min sessions if time permits. Working out on a treadmill is perhaps one of the most boring activity ever. I thought jogging out in the [...]

Yeah right! I challenge anyone having watched that YouTube clip to say thats not a [...]

Collecting stuff

July 9, 2008
When I was a kid I like to collect things. Coins, cards, toys and stamps mainly. When I got older, I eventually lost interest. But my friend George never let his habit die. In fact, he’s 30 and still collecting stuff. The last time I went to his place was about a year ago. From [...]

Federer hanging on by a thread

July 6, 2008
It is raining in Wimbledon tennis courts now. The rain brought a stop to the Men’s Wimbledon finals match between Federer and Nadal. I’ll be sitting here at my PC to kill time until the match resumes. As a Federer fan, it’s heartbreaking to see him down two sets to love. The match stopped at 5-3 [...]

ATI closes in on nVidia

July 6, 2008
ATI seems to have raised the bar and is back in the game, at least in the midrange graphics card market. It literally gave nVidia a run for its money by offering comparable performance at a very much lower price point. The star performer is Radeon HD 4850 which retails at $199. It offers the [...]
