Here’s comes raya food!

by Stanley, September 30, 2008

Eventhough it doesn’t belong to my ethnicity, Hari Raya nevertheless is a festive season my palate loves. I get invited to open houses by my Malay friends and I’ve never said no. One of the best things about raya is the food. It’s the only festive season I get to indulge on some of the best Malay delicacies like lemang, ketupat, lemang, rendang, assortments of traditional Malay cookies and cakes and many more. It ain’t called “Feast of the Breaking of the Fast” for nothing. I guess by the end of the week, all those exercises, dieting, diet pills and detox regime would be wasted if I don’t cut down on raya bingeing but darn, those food are tasty.

Now that Plan A, the letter to Abdullah Ahmad Badawi requesting a meeting to discuss a smooth power transition has failed, Anwar Ibrahim revealed that an emergency Parliament meeting be organised on 23rd September to allow a vote of no-confidence against the Prime Minister. This is effectively Plan B and we will now see how UMNO [...]

Never a good idea to fly Malaysia flag upside down

September 17, 2008
It has always been the fact that the only flag which should be flying upside down is UMNO’s. Never a Malaysian flag. Leader of PAS Syed Azidi Syed Abdul Aziz, aka Kickdefella, has just found himself in hot soup after flying the Malaysian flag upside down and telling others to do the same a while [...]
