Taking a swipe again at one of the worst web hosting companies around, HostNine!

by Stanley, November 15, 2008

Hostnine, the web hosting company I’m using for my sites, is giving me the familiar sense of uneasiness lately. The server seems to be slow for most part of the week. And just 30 minutes ago, I could not connect with its server.

I feel I can’t warn you readers enough to stay away from HostNine. The only reason I’m still with HostNine is because they offer pretty much the cheapest reseller hosting around. About nine months ago, HostNine ran into server problems and wiped out a few of my websites’ database. HostNine blamed it on hackers and suggested that I was responsible for my websites’ security. Which is a load of bullshit because there were other HostNine users who lost their sites. So if you are with HostNine, BACKUP YOUR SITES OFTEN!

Anyway, technical stuff aside, reading about vacation rentals makes me wonder [...]

Killing > Sinned > Hell

November 10, 2008
The 3 Bali bombers responsible for killing 202 foreign and local holiday seekers in 2002 were executed recently. I’m sure most of you would’ve read about it. I tip my hat to the Indonesian judiciary as this is not an easy trial for a predominantly muslim nation. Justice has been done but expectedly this will not [...]

Planning a Disney vacation

Burn out alert is flashing before my eyes in the last few days. I’ve been experiencing headaches, strained shoulders, lower backaches and teary eyes on and off for the past few weeks as I slave no less than 8 hours in front of the PC. Lately, it’s been getting worse. I don’t foresee this ordeal [...]

Zaid Ibrahim punished by UMNO for his fight to abolish ISA

November 10, 2008
The evening news I am watching now started off with reports on UMNO issuing Zaid Ibrahim a show cause letter for his unrelentless push for ISA abolishment. The most powerful political weapon in UMNO’s arsenal is the ISA and it is apparent they will fight tooth and nail to preserve such draconic tool in order [...]
