Abdullah Badawi refuses to fund 2nd Penang bridge with Petronas money

by admin, April 3, 2008

Abdullah Badawi rejects Penang CM Lim Guan Eng’s request for Petronas to fund the cost of building a second bridge. UMNO still reeling in vindictive and sore-loser mood, seems to me. This action is no different from Azalina’s boycotting tourism funding in opposition states.

Let’s put things in perspective. The second Penang bridge is going to cost about RM4billion. Petronas earns over RM80 billion annually. Chump change for Petronas if you ask me. So why the downright refusal?

Petronas funds many mega-projects before but we’re going to see the Federal BN government refuse a lot more proposed infrastucture projects in opposition states, mark my words. The message is “Rakyat is to be PUNISHED for voting the opposition” loud and clear. Hear that? Remember this arrogance in the next general election.

Barisan Nasional is the real threat for further development in Malaysia.

  1. Fellow Malaysians, for me it very simple… why must we all make noise about the penang second bridge… no issue la kawan…
if you refuse to pay the toll for the two bridges please use the ferry… after all we still wants the ferry to be there isn’t it??so some of us need to support the ferry charges la…
U can’t have anything for FREE right?? tak boleh la like that.
we also need to think about other peoples, those that earn their living as toll girl/boy, mantainance guys that clean the road and even those tow truck guy that always cekik darah…
    Think OUT of the BOX…

    — andy,
  2. The govt. boycott opposition lead states, refuse to use Petronas $$ to fund projects… simple, just boycott Petronas instead, see who gets hurt more. We still have plenty to choose from… Shell (which I think is way better than Petronas), Esso, and etc.
