• Anwar Ibrahim sodomy allegation again

With the recent sodomy allegation against PKR’s Anwar Ibrahim, The tussle between Barisan Nasional (BN) and Pakatan Rakyat (PR) is up a notch.

Anwar Ibrahim is supposed to be in Ipoh Stadium for a speech on 29 June 2008, which was last night. However it was clear he’ll be a no show as the news confirmed he is in hiding at the Turkish Embassy. Another notable absentee was Lim Kit Siang. Anwar’s absence was a major disappointment for the Ipoh crowd. But we understand it’s another UMNO trick again.

It was a wise move to seek refuge in an international embassy nonetheless. PKR did what was deemed necessary for Anwar Ibrahim’s safety and that was IMO a commendable effort.

We have to realise that PKR and the rest of PR parties are not dealing with a rule-abiding party we call UMNO. The top ranks in UMNO know that the stakes are very high at this political stage. A switch in political powers at the federal level would likely see all their wrong-doings exposed. UMNO has exerted a tight grip in judiciary, police and powers-that-be to hide all their corrupted activities from the nation. In short, the crooks in UMNO is sensing their demise is near, and times like these call for desperate measures. Whether it is right or wrong or lawful will not be in consideration. Malaysia had better brace for a wounded tiger that will strike it’s last blow for survival and it will not be pretty. Anwar’s sodomy allegation is just the tip of the iceberg.
