ATI closes in on nVidia

by Stanley, July 6, 2008

ATI seems to have raised the bar and is back in the game, at least in the midrange graphics card market. It literally gave nVidia a run for its money by offering comparable performance at a very much lower price point. The star performer is Radeon HD 4850 which retails at $199. It offers the best value-for-money coming in a close second against nVidia GeForce GTX260 at $250. The Radeon HD 4850 comes 512MB of GDDR3. To think that two years ago, my PC has 512MB ram. Kinda gives you an idea how far graphics card technology has progressed. I hope ATI comes back big time and closes in on nVidia again. Healthy competition between rival brands is always a boon for consumers.
