• Indiana Jones 2008 is by far the worst

My wife and I dropped our baby at the in-laws this afternoon to catch the last few shows of Indiana Jones. We seldom get timeout from taking care of our baby and it’s been quite a while since we watched a movie in the cinema. We really looked forward to this afternoon break but unfortunately, the movie put a dent to my mood.

I’ve been reading the reviews at IMDB, not extensively though coz I was wary of spoilers lying around, and safe to say I was bracing myself for what would be a mediocre Indiana Jones movie. But alas, my already low expectations were apparently not low enough. This is by far the worst Indiana Jones movie ever. In fact, this ranks among the worst movies I’ve watched this year.

Just off the record, I’m not a movie critic by any measures. I don’t judge the scripts, screenplay, casting and such to a high degree. What matters to me is the storyline. Indiana Jones and the KotCS has a storyline so uninspiring to the extent of being lame.

Action scenes were littered with CGI. I love top notch CGI when used sparingly but in this movie, especially the car-chase-fight-through-the-jungle scene was absolutely terrible. Ford, La Beuf and Blanchett were involved in extraordinary fights and pulling off unbelievable moves throughout the car chase, it’s not even funny. I actually felt embarassed for Lucas, Spielberg and the actors in making such crappy action sequences. No wonder Indiana Jones and the KotCS garnered so many negative reviews from critics.

Stay away from Indiana Jones 2008 or watch it at your own expense if you have time to kill. It killed my mood this afternoon for sure.
