Some of my schoolmates got into the insurance business a few years ago. Classmates in fact. Those that I don’t really get along well with. Not that we’re not on good terms but they’re just not in my group of friends during schooldays.
When my friends and I bumped into them a couple of years ago, we were surprised how friendly they were to us. I mean, they aren’t exactly the kind that people back in the school days. Even when I met them during college and university, they’ve never extend more than a hi-bye hand wave. My friends and I thought, “hmmm, they must’ve been involved in some sort of sales or insurance business I bet.”
True enough, a few days later my friend, Paul, were invited to hang out at the pub on a weekend by them. That night Paul were lectured for more than 2 hours about life insurance and how he should buy one. Through them. Paul signed up.
That was 4 years ago. Paul told me they’re not selling insurance anymore. In fact, two years after Paul bought a life insurance from them, the group broke up and went separate ways. Insurance agents come and go like the wind. No guarantees they’ll stay around long enough for after-sales service.
