• Making it to the runway

Most of my schoolmates now are either accountants, engineers, lawyers, or IT professionals. You know, the usual safe and sound career choices of our generation. In other words, boring. Whereas there are some who embarked into pretty exciting and unique careers. Friends who used to sit next to me back in the school days are now a jockey in Macau, lawyer cum political activist (a mighty outspoken one I might add), a computing genius whom I last heard was sitting in the board of directors of a listed company he started and recently I just found out the lankiest girl in my high school years went on to become a pretty successful model. Gracing magazine pages (not yet cover material modelling for designer labels, independent designers, bridal lingerie labels and many more. I could hardly believe it because she has always been the quiet and studious type. And just plain lanky. Who would’ve guessed she is now strutting her stuff down the runway of European fashion shows and magazines. Earning big bucks no doubt. Now where did her phone number go hmmm …
