• Site revamp: A glimpse of Summilux, an SEO-optimized, Adsense-ready Wordpress theme
by Stanley, February 20, 2008
Notice the entire blog switched to the dark side? I’m test driving my new Wordpress template design called Summilux. It’s a low-key, SEO optimized (as much as I could) and Adsense ready Wordpress theme with a slight webzine kinda look frontpage.
Summilux uses Blueprint CSS framework for easy/lazy layout during the building process. The caveat is a bigger CSS file.
SEO wise, the unimportant <li> headings in the sidebars are given <h5> instead of the default <h2>. Giving it a lot less weight and importance when seen from search engines’ perspective. Blog entries’ titles are given <h1> treatment.
I’ve implemented a couple of Google Adsense placements throughout the site. Nothing fancy, just putting them in places where the heat map think is hot.
Still pretty much a work in progress at this stage with seemingly endless tinkering here and there. Can’t leave a comment? Sorry, I’m still busy working on comments.php right now.
I will upload the completed Wordpress template as soon as I can and you can download it for your own use. Stay tuned.

I just uploaded comments.php and did some CSS styling. Most of the code is copy-and-pasted from Wordpress’ default Kubrick theme before applying my own changes.
I’d probably style the comment form next …
