Touchscreen netbooks, oh yes please!

by Stanley, October 23, 2008

When Asus announced a touch-screen version of it’s wildly popular EEE netbook range will be released in mid 2009, I found my patience being tested again. Can you imagine how slick and convenient navigation would be with a touch screen? I’ve always found using a touchpad is a pain and such a chore. Carrying an auxiliary mouse, no matter how tiny and portable, is a hassle no less. It would be a dream come true when the day arrives we no longer have to worry about carrying a mini mouse and power plug cable along to Starbucks. No more worrying about remaining battery life. But battery aside, as long as it gives me more than 3 hours of power use I’ll keep my options open. The touch-screen feature on the other hand, is a definitely yes-please as far as I’m concerned. Manufacturers should make it a mainstay feature for laptop computer or netbooks in the short future. It’s about time we kiss the stupid touchpad goodbye.
