Used iPhone offer

by Stanley, September 27, 2008

A co-worker of mine has made me an offer for his used i-Phone barely two weeks old. Judging from the exterior, it seems to be really well taken care of. With the protective cover off, it is in mint condition.

The only niggling problem is the fact that his iPhone 3G is an unlocked model which according to him is sourced from New Zealand or Australia. unlocked cell phones usually voids warranty unless it is unlocked by the telco or retailer who throws in his own warranty conditions. iPhone 3G is available locally now. 100% unlocked, warranty intact and guaranteed to work with any major local telcos. But a new one is going to cost me RM 3600 (16GB), RM800 more than what I’m being offered for a two-week-old, mint iPhone 3G.

As tempting as it sounds, if RM800 buys me complete peace of mind, I might just let this offer slip.
