This CPU is now the only quad-core CPU below $100 mark in the world. Needless to say, this CPU is now on my list of specs for my new PC. I have been planning to get myself Athlon dual cores and when the news broke about this sub-$100 quad-core, I’m ditching dual-cores. If you’ve been analysing CPU performance based on benchmarks, you may not realise the full benefits of quad cores over dual cores. I run multiple softwares simultaneously all the time. This is where quad-core makes the overall system feels smoother and more responsive. This advantage alone is worth the higher premium of quad-cores IMO.
