• Kubuntu 9.10 Karmic Koala Release Candidate and ATI Radeon 9250 woes

I’ve been satisfied with Kubuntu 9.04 and 9.10 so far. Except for the sluggish and sometimes stuttering graphics with my ATI Radeon 9250 video card. I know my ATI 9250 is an old card, more than five years old to be precise but I doubt it lacks the power to handle mere 2D desktop graphics. It’s been doing fine in previous versions of Kubuntu but severely handicapped since Kubuntu 9.04. I’ve search for fixes in my free time to rectify this problem and I think I have found an effective fix.

It has helped speed up the graphics noticeably. The fix is very straightforward and easy even for a novice Linux newbie. Don’t worry.
