• Malaysia Health Ministry sucks bigtime given high Influenza A(H1N1) fatality rate
by Stanley, August 13, 2009
Malaysia is experiencing an abnormal ratio of influenza A(H1N1) death to infection ratio. Other countries are reporting well below 1% fatality rate for influenza A(H1N1) patients, Malaysia is recording close to 2% fatality rate. Double that of the global average influenza A(H1N1) fatality rate.
Which begs the question … what the f#%k is our Health Ministry doing?!
I’ve been rebutted several times for critisizing our government health services and facilities. Its not something I enjoy doing but I’ve always believed there’s room for improvement when it comes to our government hospitals and way of doing things. Given our government’s current show of incompetency against the growing threat of A(H1N1), I don’t think I need to further prove my point.
Its no joke when up to 200 plus A(H1N1) new infections are recorded on a daily basis. And more shocking is that five to eight fatality cases are reported every single day. In some countries, these numbers would’ve given health ministers the sack and appropriate punishment.
I have a 2-year-old girl and my wife is 8 months pregnant. We are literally a high-risk group of people. Our high A(H1N1) fatality rate is giving me the creeps. Worst of all, our incompetent health ministry is giving me no hope for optimism at all.
