OCZ Agility Solid State Drive is tempting me

by Stanley, September 25, 2009

Imagine this. Your PC boots up Windows Vista in under 45 seconds, give or take. For RM500, you can cut that down to under 10 seconds. The answer is today’s generation of SSD drive.

Patience is a trait I’m really lacking. Boot up and shut down times to me is like being stuck in traffic. Each cycle takes 1 or 2 minutes and that’s the time I consider wasted. So if SSD can cut down boot up and shut down time significantly, where do I order one.

But hang on, SSDs are still expensive the last time I looked. Fortunately we’re seeing prices drop every month. OCZ Agility 30GB SSD is the smallest capacity in the Agility range of affordable (at least for now) SSDs. And you can buy one in Malaysia for RM499.

Am I tempted? You bet I am.

I’ll definitely include OCZ Agility 30GB SSD in my list of parts for my new PC. I’m going to use this SSD as my OS and software partition. Documents and multimedia stuff will be stored in a normal 500GB Seagate hard drive.
