It extends from the wall max. 15 inches. It was pretty easy to install. I took the base off the monitor. The whole base including the bulb that fits snuggly into the base of the monitor itself. I'm glad I did this. I bought the wall mount @ costco for $75.00. All other places for equal quality were around $90. Highly recommended.
