• Small town businesses
by Stanley, January 25, 2009
My quiet hometown has seen quite a lot of urban development in the past few years. New shops selling products, services and particularly diners mushroomed every where. Chain boutiques, chain cafes, beauty franchises, auto parts franchises and more. However, the thing with small town businesses is that the lack of competition is one compelling reason products or services offered are average at best. This is very apparent when compared to KL where if you simply take for instance, posh dining places, you’ll get plenty of choices. Most of them might cost a tad more but you get much more for your money. The food is good and the variety excellent. Something you would seldom encounter in smaller cities. For instance I love rack of lamb and the only place that I find that has edible ones are in KL. The ones I get in my hometown are absolutely pathetic. Rip-offs I’d say.
