• The day I paid off my debt

Credit cards are evil. That’s what my dad used to say when I finished college and got my first paycheck. But did I heed his advice? Like any young adults I didn’t of course. Although I told myself to be careful when I got my first credit card, my temptation to spend got the better of me. Soon I found myself deep in credit card debts. A huge chunk of my earnings went into paying off debts every month. I even considered debt consolidation before I forced myself pay it off in a 6 months period. It was hard living off a pittance for several months to see half of my pay going to the credit card company. But being able to pay it off was one of my life’s small achievements. I stilll remember the feeling of utmost relief despite blowing away a three-month bonus to pay it off completely. However, I still use my card for petrol and online payments. You can’t live without them, these little devils.
