• To Teoh Beng Hock’s wife, take good care of yourself

I belong to those who don’t believe Teoh would have committed suicide. Not when he’s about to get married so soon and a baby on the way. The man has got a career, a good family and so much to look forward to.

My wife will be delivering our baby in 2-3 months time. Nothing in this world matters more to me now than hoping for my wife to have a smooth, happy and healthy pregnancy. And nothing makes me more anxious than to see my wife give birth to our baby. I’m just so looking forward to meet this new member of our family, to say hi and see him grow up.

I mean, these are happy times. Happiest time of my life so far I would say. To imagine Teoh not being able to savour them just makes me feel so sad. And angry at those responsible for taking away so much from him.

We might never know what happened in the few hours before Teoh was found dead at MACC HQ. But if any sane man were to put himself in his shoes at that time, and if MACC really is telling the truth saying Teoh was already free to go home, never would thoughts of suicide crosses his mind even if MACC threatens to throw him in jail. For me, I would really love to meet and say hi to my baby. That’s all I would’ve wanted no matter what terrible fate awaits me in MACC hands. And I believe that’s what Teoh would have wanted as well.

No words could offer consolation to Teoh Beng Hock’s family and wife now. I dread to imagine what his wife is going through right now. She’s two months pregnant and for a pregnant woman in her vulnerable first trimester to suffer such grief and shock, I hope she and lil’ Teoh Jr. pull through this difficult time safely.

Only time can heal such emotional wounds. To Teoh’s wife, do take care and I wish your friends and family will be there for you always. Hopefully in 7 months time, I’ll be reading a good piece of news in the papers. That you have given birth to a healthy bundle of joy.
