The flu bug bids goodbye

by Stanley, January 17, 2010

Things are a lot quieter at home now. My two-year-old girl has recovered from her flu which has lasted slightly more than a week. Throughout the dreaded week, she was so irritable and cried over little things. It drove my wife and I up the wall sometimes. That is why we are so afraid of her getting sick.

She’s now sitting in front of the TV watching Dora episodes. She seems to be in good mood today playing with her toys and watching her shows quietly without bothering us. This situation is so different from last week when she was sick.

I hope the flu bug doesn’t get to any one of us as Chinese New Year is approaching. I wouldn’t want the flu bug to dampen CNY celebrations, the only time of the year where family members get together and catch up with each other.

Thinning hair

January 17, 2010
My hair has been thinning for years. It started when I’m in my late 20’s which for most people, is considered very early. But I’m not surprised coz looking at my mom’s family, male pattern baldness runs in her family so I have sort of accepted my inevitable inheritance. I’ve never seek to find out [...]

Online backup

January 17, 2010

UMNO plays terrorism

January 9, 2010
I now regard UMNO as a terrorist party on top of a racist and corrupt regime. Months of fanning religion hate and insinuating the Muslims with the ‘Allah’ issue is now reaching tipping point. And yet UMNO denies they are responsible for the mess we are in now. Churches are being bombed. Muslims, the extreme [...]

Netbooks

January 8, 2010
I am quite bothered by people arguing that netbooks aren’t powerful enough for their computing needs. The problem is, they include the need to play high definition 1080p videos or multi-task multiple programs into their requirements. I usually say to them, you’d be better off just buying a cheap Intel Dual-Core notebook instead of a [...]

My trusty old Nissan

January 7, 2010
My previous car was a Nissan Sunny. It was a four-year-old car when I bought it used and on top of that, it gave me a solid ten year fuss-free driving. The Nissan rarely broke down. Minor problems are the norm with used cars but parts were cheap and readily available. I do remember one [...]

My terrible two daughter is sick and it’s scary

January 6, 2010
My worst nightmare is upon us again. My wife and I dread the very thought of our two-and-a-half year old daughter falling sick. Two months ago, right after my wife gave birth to our baby boy, she got sick due to food poisoning. There was so much crying and wailing around the house, it would [...]
