Worry about cost of living and lagging wages

by Stanley, January 6, 2010

It’s been a painful day for my wallet having paid a month’s worth of utility bills, annual car insurance, health insurance and a hospital bill that did the most damage - my kids’ vaccination, three jabs and a dose of rotavirus vaccine. I have often asked myself would I be able to keep up with the rising cost of living. Being middle class in Malaysia is increasingly stressful. And soon we’ll have to live with GST further making our lives more miserable. And if the situation now is already bad, what sort of future Malaysia will be for our children’s livelihood? Will our wages ever catch up with the rise and rise of basic necessities, utilities, food, healthcare and more? Dare you put your kid’s future at risk in Malaysia just to find out the answer?
