Apple iPad no thanks

by Stanley, September 18, 2010

I’ve been fascinated with the iPad when Apple launched it many months ago. Sure tablet and touchscreen is nothing new but it failed to start a revolution in computing. Now that Apple has take up the challenge, touchscreen tablets may just revolutionise the computing world. Already we’re seeing computer hardware heavyweights Dell, Asus, Samsung etc getting ready to ship tablet PCs. Most of them have better features than Apple’s iPad. It’s going to be interesting.

With life throwing a curveball at me, the luxury of uninterrupted working hours is now gone. I definitely need a tablet PC the likes of iPad or at least a portable netbook to get things done these days. But I won’t buy an iPad yet. Not until the 2nd or 3rd generation arrives with features I want - USB, HDMI, flash games and multitasking are top of the list must-haves for me. As a heavy computer user, multitasking is one of my minimum requirements and I was speechless when iPad can’t do basic multitasking. That alone ruled out my chances of ever buying an iPad, this 1st generation one.
