• It’s Penang that has given up on Gerakan

“Gerakan has not ‘given up’ on Penang”

That’s the headline given to Gerakan’s vice-president Mah Siew Keong article. UMNO had earlier suggested Gerakan give up their seats to MCA or MIC in the coming general election if Gerakan themselves predict losing to Pakatan Rakyat for another term. That is Gerakan’s reply.

My immediate retort to Mah is: Does it really matter when Penang has apparently given up on Gerakan?

Unlike the other states captured by Pakatan Rakyat in GE12, Penang was lost by the biggest of margins. DAP, PKR and PAS absolutely humiliated Gerakan and BN in Penang. So Gerakan please take the hint, spare yourself further embarassment and dissolve your party. Go to MCA, MIC or UMNO if you really must hang on to these corrupted parties. I’ve never heard such a silly statement predicting a loss in the next GE but winning it the one after next.
