Still sweeping under the carpet Gerakan and BN?

Koh Tsu Koon

This is the face of failure. The face of Gerakan. If Gerakan still habors hope of recapturing Penang in the near future, it certainly doesn’t show on Koh Tsu Koon’s face.

Koh voiced his disagreement on discussing party matters in the open. Prefer to keep political matters BN and Gerakan behind closed doors. In other words, sweep things under the carpet.

In Malaysia, after 53 years under BN rule, the rakyat has learnt one thing. If political parties have something to hide, you can be 100% sure it’s something dirty and corrupted. In this day and age, with information flowing without borders, we demand no less than a transparent government. We expect to know how our country is governed. After all, we are the taxpayers. The rakyat is also smart enough to differentiate the right from the wrong. Truth from the lies. So for the government to determine what sort of information gets out to the public, is an insult. Sweeping under the carpet doesn’t work anymore in today’s political landscape.

So Koh Tsu Koon promised to improve Gerakan’s image through reforms and improvements. That is commendable but why only now? A bit too late if you ask me. Granted these reforms and improvements, should they come to fruition, bear in mind it is likely forced upon Gerakan. Not by opposition parties, but the rakyat of Penang in GE12. This makes me doubt Gerakan’s sincerity and willingness to change in the first place. Be wary of half-hearted reforms and improvements for its likely Gerakan ( and more so for BN ) just want to put on a good show to fool the rakyat again.
