The new cambodian maid

by Stanley, March 5, 2010

Indonesian maids have one very significant advantage to Malaysian employers, that is the ability to understand Bahasa Malaysia despite the different dialects between two nations. When we decided to hire a Cambodian maid instead of Indonesian, we were told there’ll be a communication problem. It is very unlikely she’ll be able to understand a word we say.

Well, it’s been a week since the Cambodian maid arrived and true enough, verbal instructions are pretty much useless. We had to literally perform the duties ourselves and have her observe and learn. Sometimes we even have to resort to drawing stuff to make sure she have a clue what we’re saying.

She’s appears quite obedient and hard-working. Well, during the first few weeks, who isn’t. It’s too earlier to tell whether as time goes by, she’ll be slacking off or not.
