Silver rounds are silver coins mint privately. The word ’round’ is used instead because ‘coin’ is used by the circulate US government issued coins. Silver round have no face value and not used in trade like silver coins. People buy silver rounds to invest in pure silver. It is an investment choice for many because it can be bought without the premium that comes with legal tender silver coins. Silver rounds usually come in standard 1 troy oz with varying designs.
