• Giving Google Chrome a spin

I’m seriously considering switching over to Google Chrome.

Firefox 8.0 has been giving me some serious lagging problems. It lags when exiting. Occassionally failure to restore browser windows after minimized for some time. And more that I could care to remember. It wasn’t a pleasant experience browsing with Firefox in the past few months as much as I hate to admit.

Using Google Chrome immediately felt snappier. But I’ll test drive it for a couple of weeks before I make any conclusions.

One thing I’m quite sure I’ll miss is my DownThemAll Firefox plugin, a download manager for Firefox. Chrome, as far as I know, don’t have a similar extension.

Another favourite Firefox plugin of mine is Quickdrag, which enables me to open a link or google a highlighted phrase by click and drag. I found one Chrome extension with functions similarly - Yet Another Drag and Go.
