Still sweeping under the carpet Gerakan and BN?

by Stanley, September 16, 2010

Koh Tsu Koon

This is the face of failure. The face of Gerakan. If Gerakan still habors hope of recapturing Penang in the near future, it certainly doesn’t show on Koh Tsu Koon’s face.

Koh voiced his disagreement on discussing party matters in the open. Prefer to keep political matters BN and Gerakan behind closed doors. In other words, sweep things under the carpet.

In Malaysia, after 53 years under BN rule, the rakyat has learnt one thing. If political parties have something to hide, you can be 100% sure it’s something dirty and corrupted. In this day and age, with information flowing without borders, we demand no less than a transparent government. We expect to know how our country is governed. After all, we are the taxpayers. The rakyat is also smart enough to differentiate the right from the wrong. Truth from the lies. So for the government to determine what sort of information gets out to the public, is an insult. Sweeping under the carpet doesn’t work anymore in today’s political landscape.

So Koh Tsu Koon promised to improve Gerakan’s image through reforms and improvements. That is commendable but why only now? A bit too late if you ask me. Granted these reforms and improvements, should they come to fruition, bear in mind it is likely forced upon Gerakan. Not by opposition parties, but the rakyat of Penang in GE12. This makes me doubt Gerakan’s sincerity and willingness to change in the first place. Be wary of half-hearted reforms and improvements for its likely Gerakan ( and more so for BN ) just want to put on a good show to fool the rakyat again.

It’s Penang that has given up on Gerakan

September 15, 2010
“Gerakan has not ‘given up’ on Penang” That’s the headline given to Gerakan’s vice-president Mah Siew Keong article. UMNO had earlier suggested Gerakan give up their seats to MCA or MIC in the coming general election if Gerakan themselves predict losing to Pakatan Rakyat for another term. That is Gerakan’s reply. My immediate retort to Mah is: [...]

Cow head protesters punishment a joke

July 27, 2010
These cow-head protesters should all be charged with sedition for inciting racial and religion hatred. All twelve should be heading to ISA to serve a two-year detention sentence. But instead the most extreme punishment dealt to them is a RM3000 fine and one-week jail. If non-Malays in Malaysia were to throw the Quran on the [...]

DAP Tony Pua sheds more light into Malaysia’s impending FDI darkness

July 25, 2010
The recent release of World Foreign Investment Report (WIR) 2010 by United Nations Conference of Trade and Development (UNCTAD) provided a picture that is nothing short of grim and ugly for the Malaysian economy especially in its attractiveness as a local and foreign investment destination. While the headline 81% drop in foreign direct investment [...]

Malaysia 2009 Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) plunges under Barisan Nasional

July 23, 2010
FDI seek opportunities in countries with stable socio-economy. Countries governed by honest, transparent capable leaders with integrity and management skills. Countries devoid of racial discrimination, redtapes, corruption, unfair judiciary among others. Countries that produce capable, learned, brightest, skilled work force and most importantly, retains them. Malaysia have none of the above! So is it any surprise our [...]

No sports betting license for Ascot final decision

June 29, 2010
Legalising sports betting and awarding the gambling license to crony Vincent Tan is another way for UMNO to make some easy money. While they are still in power, UMNO is using every opportunity still available to plunder as much money from Malaysia. After all, who knows what will happen to them after GE13. This time Najib [...]

No doubt Najib and BN violated Election Offenses Act in Hulu Selangor

April 27, 2010
This I read from Kit Siang’s blog … Najib publicly declared: “If we win this by-election, you can come to Kuala Lumpur the next day to look for me. I will write a personal letter to approve the money and it will be transferred to the school board’s account. If we lose, don’t have to come.” The [...]
