She’s not aging well for a woman her age. Her complexion is fairly dark, and coupled with a thin frame and tired looking skin, is a farcry from the tabloid images of Michelle Yeoh. I’ve seen women nearing their 50’s faring better with age. The rich ones of course, those who can afford the best nutritional diet, best wrinkle cream, spend half of their day at fitness gyms and free from stress and worries.

I’m blogging from my wife’s ThinkPad now because lately there’s something weird going on with my LCD monitor. Whenever I switch on my PC, sometimes my LCD monitor fails to power up. Everything else is fine. It’s especially annoying when I’m in a rush and need to get a few things done on the PC.

The computer technician couldn’t spot where the problem is and suggests I replace the power supply unit or the adaptor. Even then, he’s not too sure about it. So why spend the money fixing it when for a bit more, I could get a new 19″ lcd monitor with widescreen to boot.

If there’s one thing I’ve learned from experience, PC stuff have a short lifespan. After a few years of service, they’re usually not worth the effort and money spend for repairing.

When you have a DVD player, Playstation 3 and cable TV connecting to a high-def TV with a single HDMI input, you have a problem. How do you connect them devices to the TV simultaneously? That’s when you need to hop out and look for HDMI switches. A HDMI switch looks like a multiple router modem when it’ll serves as a HDMI middleware that hooks up all your devices to the TV.

I bought one last weekend because I need to hook up my fresh-out-of-box Playstation 3 to the TV’s already occupied (DVD) HDMI input. Next up my list, GTA IV!

“I cannot foresee the country without Umno. The Malays only know Umno and its allies. I cannot imagine how the Malays will behave or react without Umno on the scene,” Tengku Razaleigh farts.

It’s stupid statements like these that is driving UMNO down the drain. For someone who proclaims to be a saviour to an ailing UMNO, aiming to replace Abdullah Ahmad Badawi as head of UMNO, he just managed to shoot himself in his foot.

It goes to show how arrogant and racially motivated UMNO is at it’s core. Malaysia will never be free from racial issues as long as UMNO remains as ruling coalition.

The diseases spread by UMNO is deeply etched in the Malays. NEP, for instance, will remain a chronic ailment for the Malays in Malaysia forever. I can see no end to it. No political party will be strong enough to remain as ruling government if it decides to mess with Malay priviledges. If Pakatan Rakyat is wise enough to keep the crutches intact for the Malays, it will remain in power. As simple as that.

As a Chinese, I’ve come to accept and live with Malay priviledges, no matter how unfair and biased it is. But I cannot accept UMNO who has championed all sorts of pro-Malay propoganda, condemned non-Malays as enemies of the Malays and use it in corrupted ways to enrich only themselves. Hence robbing us of our nation’s wealth. Pity there are enough Malays who believe all their shit to allow UMNO to rule us for 50 years.

How did I manage to put on 20 pounds in less than year! Inactivity probably is the biggest culprit. I’ve been buried nose-high in work. And when I get home, my one-year-old little baby girl take up all my free time. So that leaves like 0-minutes for exercising.

Hitting the big 3-0 is really depressing. My metabolism has taken a big hit and is now slowing down considerably. I hate the scales now. That Phentermine diet product sales woman who approached me the other day at the mall looks prettier day by day.

It was announced by our prime minister at the Parliament on Tuesday. I should among those jumping for joy but knowing our government, I’ve learned to believe only when I see plans being implemented for good. In other words, I don’t buy it. In fact, I glanced at the headlines and didn’t even bother to check it out further. I firmly believe given Proton’s management lack of capabilities, it will never survive the cutthroat global car market. Certainly not with our current model selection which is absolute rubbish. Don’t be too quick to think that you can buy 3-series BMW at half price. That’s all I wanna put down.

Never a day goes by I don’t regret not maxing out the RAM in my computer. My AMD Sempron box uses DDR1 sticks and I’ve got 512MB x 2 which makes it 1GB. One gigabyte of RAM was enough three years ago. Then again I was only photoshopping pictures downloaded from a 4 megapixel digital camera at that time. 3 years later, these days I’m messing around with 4-6 megabytes files from a Nikon D40x and it slows my PC down to a crawl. It’s very frustrating you’re rushing to touch up a batch of photos in time for the printers. Instead of upgrading DDR1 RAM, which is so much more expensive compared DDR2 these days, I’m anxiously waiting for my bonus and get myself a Core 2 Duo PC, with 4GB computer memory and a 22″ LCD monitor *drool*. And if there’s any spare cash left, I might even be tempted by an ultra portable ASUS Eee PC so that I have a proper tool to blog with anywhere anytime I feel like it.

My in-laws house underwent some minor work to repair some old wooden shutters. 15 years of rain and shine took it’s toll on them. The shutters are barely usable and if not repaired, it might just break apart when you least expect it. Instead of replacing the wooden shutters with wooden ones again, they used vinyl shutters instead. Admittedly, I was somewhat skeptical when they said they’re using some sort of ‘fake’ wood material. Upon closer inspection, I have to say the material and finishing ain’t all that bad.

If there’s anyone who knows the truth, nothing but the truth, it’ll be the Razak Baginda family. That’s probably a given. Then why are you not coming out with the truth that will prove your father’s innocence? Prove that he is not the one responsible for ordering the killing of Altantuya. What’s keeping your dad’s mouth shut? If the situation remains the same, your family continues to keep mum and deny us of the truth, then I’m sorry to say I have not the slightest pity for your father, Razak Baginda.

F*%k the judiciary when it comes to cases involving higher government officials. To be put on trial in the first place, it is obvious your dad is really guilty or someone with powers above the judiciary is having his way. I doubt the truth about Altantuya’s murder will ever see daylight in the court. IMO, unless the truth is out, your dad’s a goner, Rowena. And he would have deserved it.

IMO, Ahmad Shabbery Cheek’s threatening to cancel parliament live-telecast is denying my rights, as a Malaysia citizen, to view parliament proceedings. It is I who pay their taxes so what right do they have cancel it. It is my right to watch and hear what goes on the parliament, the place where decisions are made on handling the tax monies I pay every year. It is my right to watch a live-telecast of the ENTIRE duration of parliament sitting, instead of just 30 minutes.

Yes, I’m somewhat disappointed with the name-calling, insults and petty arguments. But for Ahmad Shabbery Cheek to use these lame reasons to reconsider continuing the live-telecast is really making me mad. Just leave it to public scrutiny to judge for themselves. Barisan Nasional has no rights to deny it. The show MUST go on!
